In his coaching style Sandro leverages his long experience in the academic and education fields. His passion is to work with leaders and teams helping them identifying and expressing their talents and qualities and working with the infinite resources that diversity discloses. In his approach to facilitation and coaching, Sandro has specific expertise in coaching for leadership development, intercultural communication and conflict transformation. Awareness and action are at the core of his approach.

Leadership Development, Coaching & Consulting Experience

For almost 20 years Sandro has been working in the field of mediation and conflict resolution exploring the themes of communication, conflict management and leadership working with individuals, teams and organizations, from local to international/intercultural contexts. Since 2012 he focused on providing leadership development and coaching to Private (e.g. one of the top three professional services firms in the world), Public enterprises (e.g. utilities/water in Italy). Sandro also has a broad third sector international experience, having delivered coaching based leadership programs with the NGO WYSE International for emerging leaders coming from over 100 countries and he has conducted trainings globally, including Italy, Japan, Brazil, UK, Holland, Switzerland, and USA. From 2017 he’s been part of the faculty for several cohorts of coaching programmes delivered for the United Nations International Fund for Agricultural Development – IFAD in Rome. He received accreditation as trainer from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and from the Italian Ministry of Internal Affairs. He is the author of articles and essays on issues on communication and conflict management.

Other Relevant Experience

For over 10 years, Sandro has been working as a university lecturer, initially with the University of Florence and with the University of Pisa. From 2007 to 2016 he has also worked with the Institute Lorenzo de' Medici in Florence, as a professor at the Department of Communication. In the early 2000s, at the University of Pisa he has contributed to the development of the Master of Intercultural and Interreligious Conflict Management and at the University of Florence he has developed and coordinated an Intercultural Conflict Mediation Service. In 2011-12 he worked as a professor at the Communication Department at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York (U.S.). From 1999 to 2006 he’s been working with the NGO Civilian Defense Center of Studies, being for several years part of its board. Since 2002, he is a Faculty of WYSE International, an NGO affiliated with the Department of Public Communication of United Nations, which promotes educational programmes based on coaching for young leaders from all over the world. Since 2015 he is the head of WYSE Italia, the Italian section of WYSE International.
